(this is a good thing) As any child knows Santa knows us all so it kinda helps if he knows your childs name when they go in. At the time of booking on line you have to enter the childs name and age. Santa is nice my kids loved him, I was quite supprised as the 3 year old would normally scream her head off. The great door closes behind you and Santa welcomes the children. Then Santas big wooden door opens and the elves guide you in. It's magical inside and apart from the elves inside, only you and your children are in ther, no body else. So when you do finally get to the door 2 nice little elves let you in. Santas house is at the end of a long queue. There are plenty of animated polar bears, penguins, seals, teddy bears etc, etc, etc, A beautiful waterfall made purely from flashing lights, music and wonderment on the childrens faces. The thing is, and when you are in there you will agree, they don't let everyone in at the same time. Why? well have you ever stood in an airport queue at passport control. When your tour time is called get in the queue as quick as you can.
#Santas magical kingdom movie#
A nice short movie for all the family glasses supplied extra cushions to prop the children up higher. When you get in the grotto area head for the 3D situated over to the right. Arrive early then go to the grotto around an hour before your tour time. Also an ice cream parlour and as you would expect a sweet shop. There are plenty of shops and a restaurant in side the main show room reception. You have to pre book and pay so don't expect to just walk in off the street you won't get in. The grotto could not be mistaken brightly lit in multi coloured lights on the right. On the left as you walk to the grotto is the restaurant even this looked spectacular in it s bright Christmas decorations. Male staff are dressed in Santa helper costumes and looked very smart and unlike some attractions were happy and polite to visitors, not something you get everywhere and it was pouring down. Virtually every tree, bush from here on is covered in bright coloured Christmas lights. The tall firs are wrapped from top to root with lights and the entrance to the attraction has santa puppets playing a band, nice for the kids. from the moment you arrive the wonder begins. Arrive early parking is easy and organised, Toilets on carpark near bus stops with easy access for wheelchairs. This is my second visit to this attraction and it is so popular with visitors from around the world. Although it is not cheap I would recommend this day out to anyone, the advert that says it is for children from 1 to 101 years old is absolutely true, it is certainly value for money. As well as seeing Santa there was also a show, a magician and we mustn't forget all those steam engines. The gifts were good quality and I was very inpressed with the staff, given that this was the penultimate day I don't think they could have been any more enthusiastic on Day1. Admittedly this does bring in extra revenue should you buy it but there was no pressure to do so. When we did reach Santa it was so organised that you were the only ones with him and he was great, the children weren't rushed and having received their gifts had their photo taken. The children didn't once ask, "When will we see Santa?" they were so enthralled with everything. At no stage were we rushed through the path to Santa's house and the things we saw on the way were wonderful.

How wrong was I! The organisation was superb and the time allocation for the actual visit to the Grotto was brilliantly handled. It was necessary to pre-book the tickets and there appeared to be so many people in the building that I thought it would be a 'rush through' experience. You would run out of superlatives to describe this, I visited this attraction with two children aged 4 and 6 years old.
